Dr. Michael Smilanich
Dr. Smilanich received his DDS from the University of Minnesota in 1983 and maintains a private practice whose primary focus is aesthetic and functional oral rehabilitation in River Falls Wisconsin. For over 26 years he has successfully restored thousands of implants and in 1992 he became one of the first doctors to be accredited by the Academy of Osseointegration. He has presented numerous seminars and lectures on advanced prosthetic reconstructive technique, aesthetic implant rehabilitation, computer assisted implant prosthetic design, as well as the behavioral side of implant case acceptance and case closure. His work with prosthetic systems including immediate fixed provisionalization, implant treatment sequencing, and innovative framework design has been published and shared with colleagues in didactic lecture as well as hands on and residency formats. Dr. Smilanich serves as a consultant to biomedical companies and laboratories and continues to contribute to many new innovations in prosthetic implant rehabilitation. In 2008 he founded the Smile Design Center, a comprehensive group of like minded specialists to serve the restorative needs of the St. Croix Valley.
